Avv. Flavio Amadò

Studio legale e notarile

Profile

I graduated at the University of St. Gallen in 1996 and since then I am practising as a lawyer. I was called to the bar in 1999. After a fellowship with the American Institute for Economic Research of Great Barrington (Massachusetts), I have obtained a master degree in banking and finance law at the London School of Economics and Political Science in 2000. Thereafter I have worked in the legal department of an important bank in London, and in early 2001 I have been admitted to the roll of solicitors of England and Wales as a solicitor [1]. Back in Switzerland in 2001 I have worked with an important law firm, where I have practiced in commercial, corporate, banking law, regulation of financial markets (banks and investment funds), international judicial assistance and tax information exchange matters.

In these practice areas I provide advice to financial institutions and private clients mainly in civil, criminal and administrative litigation procedures, as well as in commercial transactions, start-ups, mergers and acquisitions and joint ventures.

In my activity fields, I have authored and co-authored several publications, and I regularly lecture at different private and public institutions such as the University of Applied Sciences and Arts of Southern Switzerland (SUPSI) [2], where I have organized courses in Tax and Finance law. From 2014 to May 31th 2018 I have been appointed Substitute Judge at the Court of Appeals.

I practice as Notary Public: my activity field covers mainly the execution of deeds in Italian, German, English and French, concerning corporate entities, real estate properties (and related authorization procedures) and the release of notarial certifications.

[1] Currently I am not practising as English solicitor.

[2] One of the nine professional universities recognised by the Swiss Confederation.
